Wow, my mind is blown right now! I have to share this story with you all.
So if anyone knows me then they will know that the first way I like to learn things is by consulting God, so naturally, the first area I went to learn about money was the “Christian perspective”. From my own journey, the topics of God and money doesn’t really feel that exciting and if I scratch my brain on money lessons the only two I can think of right now is that I should tithe and that money can be a big problem. I know there is a lot to learn because this cheap and needy view doesn’t really align with the unlimited, generous and good God I know.
So, in this state I attempted to test my faith and simply ask God, “Where do I go to learn about money?”, and then I got the name, ‘Andrew Ramsey‘. Instantly I got those thoughts of “Well that’s just your own thoughts”, but I decided to try and have faith that they meant something. So, being a ‘good Christian boy’ I went along with it and looked up the name Andrew Ramsey on YouTube hoping to find some super sermon. I scrolled and scrolled but turns out the statistics in my head were right and it was hard to find a video of a guy with that name, let alone a Christian guy who was going to teach me all about God and money. Now I admit, there was the temptation of doubt and discouragement entering my mind, but I decided not to get caught up in my own brain and thoughts and just carried on with my next step which, naturally, is to ask my personal pastor, my Dad!
“Hey Dad, I think I want to learn a little more about how to look after my money God’s way and I don’t really know where to start”. He starts off by saying things like, “Jesus talks more about money than any other topic in the Bible” which is actually surprising but still not what I was looking for. I wanted to know where to learn it without just Googling money bible verses all day. The next thing he says catches my attention and blows my mind:
“Well, there are two godly men I know of that have got a lot of wisdom on money – Andrew Wommack and Dave Ramsey…”
!!
My mind was instantly blown! What are the chances! I’ve done my stats papers and it’s safe to say that this could not be a coincidence. So now I’m sitting here buzzing out and feeling really excited about the journey ahead of me. It’s not just a good place to start learning, it’s a confirmation for me that this is something I should be pursuing. Anyways, I can’t sit here much longer so I’m going to switch over to YouTube and officially start my journey of learning!
